Meet my Family
I chose to be an educator because of my passion for helping kids be all they can be. It just so happened that I married a man who has the same passion. Scott serves as an administrator of two schools in the Southwestern school district. We have three daughters. Shayelle graduated from University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL) with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing. She is currently residing in Los Angeles, Califormia, pursuing her lifelong dream of a career in comedic stage performance. Delani is a junior at Southwestern High School who participates in volleyball in the fall, works a J.C.Penney during the holidays, and is highly interested in makeup application and hair design, spending much of her time at home practicing, researching, and experimenting. Whoa, you just never know... She plans to pursue cosmotology after she graduates with the goal of moving in the direction of her older sister - California - to be a stage stylist and Hollywood make-up artist. The youngest, Korrie, is an eighth-grade student at Southwestern Middle School. She participates in basketball, volleyball, softball, and track. She is also very interested in academics, ensuring success in all content areas. Since kindergarten, she has changed her career choice about fifty times, so I will wait to write it down until we know for sure. :-)
We have a mixed-breed, highly entertaining dog. Her name is Syd. If you drive by our house, you might find Syd jumping for the limbs or chasing cars. Why? She's bored. She's similar in personality to her keeper - Korrie. She wants to PLAY, PLAY, PLAY. So what do we do? We PLAY with her. If you stop in, she will expect you to PLAY with her too!

God's Blessing...OUR Andrew ♥
We were very blessed to have been given Andrew. He was born on May 25, 1988. He was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot - American Heart Association at two months. He was hospitalized at Army Reed Army Medical Center for 2 1/2 months while undergoing open heart surgery. Approximately one year later, he experienced his second surgery - open heart again. At two years of age, he was on the operating table once again. At three and a half years of age, he was undergoing surgery that would sustain his growing body for at least ten years when the unthinkable occurred: he experienced a brain aneurysm, leading to a stroke, which ultimately led to his death on December 7, 1991. We thank God that we had Andrew for three and a half years. He was a wonderful blessing who now serves as our guardian angel. We are definitely better people having known Andrew, watching him endure trauma, experiencing how he interacted lovingly with others, particularly strangers, and seeing him smile - at all times. We are definitely better people indeed! ♥
